Scorpia

Author: Anthony Horowitz

Pages: ??

Finished date: 10/02/08

Rating: 11/10 (Eleven out of Ten)

Primary Conflict: Scorpia, one of the most dangerous criminal organization, plans to make ridiculous demands and threats on the British to make the president of the US resign, ask for an immense amount of money, force the US not to be the international security of the world anymore, and so on. When the British refuses this, they face the usual terrorist consequences, not the US.

Best Part: The best part was when Alex glided through the sky with a hot air balloon's balloon without any proper equipment. This is cool because firstly, he's at a freakish height. Secondly, there's nothing below him. Lastly, it's almost impossible for a 14-year-old to do this!

Eagle Strike

Author: Anthony Horowitz

Pages: ??

Finished date: 01/02/08

Rating: 9/10

Primary Conflict: An insane pops singer, or a 'billionaire criminal', plans to change the current shape of the world by launching nuclear missiles controlled by the president of USA (He used a smart trick to get access to the missiles) to 7 countries that have the top-sellling illegal drugs. He claims that he has respect for changing the world into a better place, but in my point of view, he has no respect for life.

Best Part: The best part was when Yassen Gregorovich, a ruthless assasin who killed Alex's uncle, tells Alex all about his past that involved his father. I liked this part because it was like a golden key to Alex's secret truth.

Primary Conflict: The major of Ocean Grove, NY, robs a few jewerly stores and drop it on the beach at night on a plane, so the place can attract more tourists, which would make the major extremely rich

Best Part: The best part in the new Hardy Boy book is how ATAC (American Teenagers Against Crime) offers the Hardys their next mission. They disguise them very nicely. For example, in this book, one of the members of the team pretends to be a Boy Scout selling cookies, which actually contained the clue to the Hardys' next mission.

Best Part: The best part was when Alex did everything to get on to a plane in mid-air. And best of all, he was hanging at such a huge height. I liked this part because it tells how brave Alex is.

Primary Conflict: A jealous competitor sets up all kinds of death traps to other competiters in a reality game show (maze escapes, etc). The Hardys are also in, and their once-in-a -lifetime experience becomes a case of jealousy.

Best Part: The best part was when the events the Hardys did in the game show. The author described the action briefly every time that I thought I was in one of the cold, chill maze with no way out!

The Hardy Boys- #178 The Mystery of the Black Rhino

Finished date: 3/10/07

Rating:7/10

Primary Conflict: Poachers kill endangered species, black rhino, for their skin. These poachers are also murderers. One of the Hardys' friend gets murdered after an attempt to stop them. Basically, this is the case of poaching and murder.

Best Part: The best part was when The Hardys caught the poacher just when they were about to give up. This taught me a lesson-- to never give up!

Primary Conflict: Colin's family is having a hard time adapting to their new life in Bayport, where the Hardys live, because they are psychics. Their problem starts increasing when their son, Colin, join the Hardys on a case where only psychics can see and solve.

Best Part: The best part was when Colin's parents strangely agreed to let Colin stay in the Hardys house for the school year because of some unfinished business. I like this part because hardly anyone is allowed to stay at a friend's house for a school year!
